Women's Rights
1 How I Chose My Topic

I decided to choose my topic Women’s Rights for my History Fair topic because today there are endless opportunities for women in society. Today unlike many years ago women’s voices were not heard, not considered important and not taken seriously. Now women’s voices are heard loud and clear. We stand up for what we believe in and we can make a difference in our world today. The evolution of women rights started with the passion of a few women who wanted to world. That’s why I chose my topic.

2 How I conducted my research

I conducted my research by going online and going on Google and researching “Women’s Rights “ but didn’t find a lot of what I was looking for. The next day I went to the library and checked out books like Women’s Rights, Women’s suffrage, Leaders of women’s suffrage, the Right to vote, the 19th century of America, and The Nineteenth Amendment. These books had detailed information on the Women’s Rights movement and helped me get the research I needed to write information for my website. I also got my research by going in the Table of Contents which made it easier to key in on what I needed in detail, faster. Then I got pictures that match my information and added them onto my website as well as the research.

3 How I created and developed my Exhibit.

I created and developed my exhibit by getting all the research I needed by going to the library. I got the books on the Women’s Rights movement and the Nineteenth Amendment and more. Then I went home to read the information in the books I checked out. Then I made notes on how each page for my website. Next I made the pages: Women’s Fight for the Right to Vote, History-Making Women, The Nineteenth Amendment, Great Women, Present day Women, and Bibliography. I chose the project category, website, because this is the category I did last History Fair in 6th grade and it was quite convenient. It is easy to present it because I wouldn’t have to burn my project onto a CD or hard drive. Incase there was a problem with the CD or hard drive, I wouldn’t have my project. For the website you just have to type the URL on the internet and present the website.

4 How My Project Relates to the Theme

My project relates to the theme because it is Debate and Diplomacy: Success, Failure, Consequences, and women rights are debatable. It is debatable because during this time men were arguing about how women shouldn’t be able to vote because they are known as second hand citizens, so men weren’t going to listen to the women because they weren’t allowed to go to college and get to be as important and equal as men so women fought for their rights to be allowed to vote. That’s debatable because a debate has at least two sides of the argument. In this case its women and men.
